What are Brass Long Eyelets?

Just like other eyelets, they are made of brass material, so they are rust-resistant and long-lasting.

While standard eyelets are generally sufficient for thin to medium-weight fabrics, long eyelets are specifically designed for thicker, stiffer materials.

Areas of use are generally:

  • Leather Goods: Ideal for reinforcing lace holes on items such as thick leather jackets, bags and shoes.

  • Thick Fabrics: It is used in materials such as thick tarpaulins, awnings, thick gabardine fabrics and heavy industrial textile products.

  • Multi-Layer Materials: It is preferred to ensure a solid transition at the points where several layers of fabric or a fabric and a lining meet.

Why Use Long Eyelets?

Standard eyelets' flutes don't fully grip thick materials and aren't securely fastened. This can cause the hole edges to fray over time or the eyelet to become dislodged.

Long eyelets, on the other hand, have a longer shank to solve this problem. This allows them to pass through thick material safely, bend securely when pressed, and provide a permanent hold.

In short, Brass Long Eyelets are a special accessory that offers maximum durability and security in thicker and more difficult materials, where standard eyelets are insufficient.
