What is a Cap Rivet?
A cap rivet is a two-piece fastener used especially in clothing, bags, shoes and leather products.
The cap rivet, as the name suggests, consists of two main components: a cap and the lower part (male part) that secures it.
Cover (Female Part):
It usually has a smooth, flat or slightly curved surface. It is located on the outer, visible part of the product.
Lower Part (Male Part):
It resembles a pointed or grooved nail. It is secured by tightening the screw into the cap.
Cap rivets are preferred in many areas for both joining and decorative purposes.
In Jeans and Fabric Products:
It is used to reinforce pocket edges, belt loops or seams on trousers, jackets, shirts and vests.
In Leather Products:
It is used for both assembly and decoration purposes on bags, wallets, belts and shoes.
In Hobbies and Handicrafts:
It can be used in combining materials such as cardboard or paperboard or in decorative designs.
The fabric or leather surface to be used is pre-drilled. The cover and bottom are then compressed using a pressing die, either by hand press or an automatic press machine.
Cap rivets increase product durability and add a stylish, industrial look. These features provide a fastening solution that is both aesthetic and functional.
